Aradhana Uppal is a rare and ideal combination of a traditional yet modern woman: Ramman Handa
Aradhana Uppal, who has been a part of popular television shows like Jana Naa Dilse Door, Sadda Haq and Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, will now be seen in a web series produced by Natak Entertainment owned by Ramman Handa.
The web series is called No Casting No Couch Only Ouch in which Aradhana will be playing mother to a gay kid. The reason that prompted her to take up the character is that she believes that she has a lot of gay friends who are misunderstood in the industry. Through this role, she wants to take a step forward and make people understand that they are not too different than straight people.
When we asked Aradhana about what was different between working for the web and working for the small screen, she said. ”Shooting a web series is more like shooting with family, and an actor can experiment on the character. Television, on the other hand, is for remuneration. Sure, money matters, but on a web series, an artist can showcase and experiment their talents quite well.”
Producer Ramman Handa wanted a very strong character, and the first name that came to his mind was Aradhana’s. Talking about it, he says, “’Aradhana Uppal is a rare and ideal combination of a traditional yet modern woman, with a distinct Punjabi culture imbibed within her. When I first met her, there was some connect and the positivity I got from her. That’s what convinced me that she was my real character.”
